O’Douds began with Clay (she/her) hand-stirring the first batches of pomade at home. No labs, no investors—just a kitchen, a dream, and scooters packed to the brim with jars headed to anyone who’d give us a shot. Friends, family, strangers at barbershops—we chased every opportunity.
High Shine, High Hold, Hand Made
Our first formulas captured the early‑2010s grooming revival—think Tumblr fades, Pinterest moodboards full of mustaches, and slickbacks as sharp as your barber’s clippers. Classic hold and high shine, but made with a modern conscience.
The Game Changer
The launch of our Multi-Purpose Pomade (MPP) marked a shift. Water-based, versatile, and easy to wash out—it became a cornerstone of the O’Douds lineup and set the tone for what was to come.
Planting Seeds in the Big Apple
Big move, big dreams. We took the leap and opened our first official facility in New York. From small-batch hustle to scaled-up production—but still made by hand, always.
The Birth of Blue Summer
The first Blue Summer Small Batch landed with serious weight—literally. It was the debut of Heavy Hammer Pomade, our strongest hold yet, built to withstand the sweat, heat, and wild nights of summer. We swung the heavy hammer not just in performance, but in vibe. What started as a seasonal experiment turned into a full-on tradition—limited runs, custom scents, and a loyal following that shows up every year like clockwork. Temporary on shelves, permanent in memory.
Growing out the Line
We rolled out Matte Paste, Standard Pomade, and Styling Treatment—broadening our styling lineup with a full spectrum of water-based options for every cut, curl, and quiff. But we didn’t stop at hair. This era also marked our expansion into daily essentials: our first all-natural deodorant, and face and beard care built for real routines—clean, vegan, and made to work without compromise. More texture, more choice, same no-BS approach to better grooming.
When Scent became our Signature
We went nose-first into fragrance with the launch of our parfumes and scent collection. Every fragrance of O'Douds is hand-blended in-house—no synthetics, no shortcuts. Just pure, bold, nature-inspired scents.
Care for Long Hair
We stepped beyond pomades with products tailored for longer styles: Conditioning Cream and Sea Salt Texture Spray. At the same time, our vision went global—we kicked off distribution in Japan and never looked back.
The Return to Our Roots
COVID changed everything for many, including our team. Through price hikes, economic shifts, and logistical battles, we decided to return to our roots in Houston, TX. We refined operations and doubled down on what mattered: clean ingredients, strong community, and sustainable practices.
A Greener Globe
The O’Douds community continued to grow when we expanded with EU distribution, bringing our blends to new shops, new cultures, and new fans across Europe.
Bracing for a Blood Winter
A cold snap of creativity. This Blood Winter collection was created as a tribute to our younger selves. The angsty teenagers who spoke of our frustration with the world through words and bloodied fingers, those teenagers who soon grew into adulthood with the same fervor. It was an ode to those nights we always wanted to make a change in our world but could only express through another medium. Blood Winter, brought about our Co-Wash, Clay Pomade, and soon Hair Tonic - products built to brace you for the cold winters ahead.
A Decade of Doing things Differently
We celebrated a full decade of O’Douds with new hair oils and next-gen sprays. Ten years of formulating, failing, reformulating, and obsessing—still handmade, still independent, still pushing forward.
Our Cleanest Year Yet
Our focus was Packaging with a Purpose. We said goodbye to waste—and hello to easier recyclable packaging. Less plastic packaging materials, lighter and more durable products, and a greener option for self-care. Our first Blue Summer Fest brought the community together IRL with a blend of our musical roots and the chance for gender-free haircuts offered for anyone and everyone. And we launched even more haircare heroes: a full Shampoo Line, an effortless Air Dry Paste, and making waves (literally) with Wave Grease.

Our ingredients are thoughtfully chosen to reduce our environmental impact. Our packaging is focused on materials that are easily recycled with components that more easily decompose and return to the earth such as glass or metal.

From the ground up, our products are built using plant-based ingredients. We don’t simply toss in some plant extracts at the end for marketing, you’ll find natural ingredients from the first word on the ingredients list to the last.
